Cellulitis – What is it?
Cellulitis is a bacteria that causes redness, pain, oedema and needs to be reviewed by the medical team. With the assistance of antibiotics, cellulitis can take up to 14 days to heal. At times you may require different types of antibiotics to help fight the infection.
 
How does one get cellulitis? The infection can be caused by a small trauma of a cut, insect bite, or from a surgical procedure. The infection is under the skin and can effect the tissue, blood and lymph nodes.
 
What to look out for? – redness, swelling, pain, hot to touch, abscess could be seen, and fever.
